" In this seminar, the field of multilayer plasmonic systems and a method for their optimization will be investigated. Plasmonic systems involve the interaction of light with nanostructured metallic heterostructures [1], which have a wide range of applications in biosensors, photonics, and nanotechnology, among others. It will be effectively analyzed how light interacts with nanostructures and allows us to optimize the plasmonic properties of materials in plasmonic systems with Otto [2] and Kretschmann [3] configurations. In addition, preliminary computational simulation results of this optimization method will be shown. [1] L. Novotny and B.
